Our Parenting Skills service follows the Solihull Approach. It is centred around the child and enables parents to reflect on their parenting styles. It helps them learn how to set clear boundaries, be consistent and have a greater understanding of key parenting skills.

The Solihull Approach is an evidence-based method that helps parents better understand their child’s behaviour and build stronger, more positive relationships.
It uses shared activities and playful interaction as a way for parents to connect with and understand their child. Play is seen as an important tool for communication, emotional development, and strengthening attachment.

Over a 10-week program, activities are provided for parents and children to do together.  It changes the way parents think and observe their children when they may be displaying challenging behaviour. This approach can be facilitated as a group. or on a one-to-one basis.

We are here to provide support to families who may need help and guidance. We have a trained member of staff who carries out our parenting courses and would be happy to discuss this service further with you.
